In the twentieth century, in the days before men went into space, the scientists only had theories and ideas of what might be up there in the blackness.

 

They didn’t know if some radioactive cloud, some gassy disease or burning heat might not kill anyone who stepped out and off our planet.

 

With all the countries at war, they couldn’t spare the men to go up and see. They couldn’t risk the loss. They needed to find another way. They needed someone to step up.
